2. Cloudy Water

Dirty filters
Excessive oils or organic matter

SOLUTIONS
Clean filters with an appropriate filter cleaner.
Shock the spa with sanitizer.
Add sanitizer as needed.
Adjust pH and/or alkalinity to the recommended range.
Run the jet pump(s) and clean filters again.
Drain, clean, and refill the spa.
3. Algae Growth

4. Stains

Use a metal inhibitor product to prevent metal buildup.
5. Scale

High calcium content in water

Adjust total alkalinity and pH with a pH decreaser.
If scale needs removal: drain, scrub off the scale, clean the shell, and refill.
Add a stain and scale inhibitor and balance water as needed.
6. Scum Ring

Buildup of oils and dirt

Wipe off scum with a clean rag.
If severe: drain, clean, apply a spa surface protectant, and refill.
7. Water Odor

Excessive organics in water
Improper sanitization

12. Weekly Prevention Checklist
Most water problems are preventable. Stick to this simple routine — each task takes about 10 minutes a week:
Test Water 2–3 Times a Week: check pH, alkalinity, and sanitizer; adjust as needed.
Shock Weekly: oxidize contaminants and prevent odors and cloudy water.
Wipe the Waterline: a soft, non-abrasive cloth stops scum rings before they form.
Rinse Filters 1–2 Times a Week: rinse with a garden hose; deep-clean monthly, replace every 12–18 months.
Shower Before Soaking: less oil, lotion, and debris means less sanitizer demand.
Drain & Refill Every 3–4 Months: or when total dissolved solids exceed 1500 ppm.
